We are proud to offer the iWellness Exam to all of our patients at Vision Health Institute. This cutting edge technology allows for early diagnosis of various eye conditions, such as macular degeneration and glaucoma. It also allows our doctors to detect very early damage caused by conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes. In some cases, the iWellness Exam allows the doctor to identify changes before they could be detected on a standard comprehensive eye exam.

The iWellness Exam includes both a photo (retinal imaging) and a detailed scan (OCT) of the back of the eye.

Retinal Imaging

Our Optomap camera takes high resolution digital images of the retina. It allows the doctor to capture a 200 degree view of the retina in a just a fraction of a second. Retinal images are invaluable in detecting subtle changes over time and as a tool for patient education.

OCT

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive test that uses light waves to take cross section images of your retina. With this technology the doctor is able to analyze all ten individual layers of the retina. In some cases, subtle retinal changes can be detected prior to the patient noticing any symptoms.

At Vision Health Institute we believe in providing our patients with the absolute best patient care. Please contact our office if you have any questions or are interested in making an appointment for an iWellness Exam.
